About.com "Carnival of Healing" #112

I am honored to have been chosen by moderator Phylameana Iila Desy from
the About.com Holistic Healing website to host the "Carnival of Healing", a
place where kindred spirits come to share their experiences and modalities
with us. I invite all my clients and interested friends to browse through our
offerings of information for you

This time next week, we will be in the throes of the holiday season; stuffed
from eating too many good things and stressing because the biggest
shopping season is upon us. I have some wonderful entries that will help you
during the many festivities celebrated during the winter season.

I have to start with "
A Time for Thanksgiving", which reminds us what the
holiday is all about. With all that wonderful traditional food, we have to think
bout our waistlines. The article, "
Hold Me Accountable" is a personal journal
of one persons' affair with food.  "
Is Fat Contagious?", a thought provoking
article, is something to think about. Feeling heavy? "
Ramblings of a Fat Man"
is an interesting read.  Now, for those who have eaten just a little too much,
or even more importantly, have some problems with sugar, "
The Top 5 Health
Benefits of Cinnamon" talks about a commonly used spice that is becoming a
major player in holistic medicine arena. For more information on diabetes,
check out the "
Information Sheet on Diabetes" by clicking on the title. How
about "
Foods that Boost Your Mood", a healthier way than caffeine to get up
and get goin'. Speaking of that, read "
How To Speed Up Your Metabolism" for
some good advice.

Now, how about getting ready for the big holiday rush. Check out "
27 Tips to
Getting Organized" for ways to keep clutter and madness at a minimum.

"Tis the season to be sneezin', fa-la-la-la-la, and I am not trying to make light
of this, but protecting your children from all kinds of germs out there is what
"
Action Alert: Vaccinate You Kids or Else!" is informing us about. How about
some great tips in "
An Ounce of Prevention"

Now to talk about some of the most important things to think about during
this time of the year. The following articles touch on depression, SAD
(Seasonal Affective Disorder), Anger, Stress and that one that gets me every
time, Judgement. Follow these links to more interesting reading:

Anger:  "
Channeling Anger the Right Way" by Joe Fier

Stress: "
Sure Signs the Energy in Your Home is Stressed" by Carole Fogarty
(Check out the photo...I wonder if my oldest daughter has done that with my
twin granddaughters!). Another article to check out would be "
Top 10 Stress
Busters!" What about this, "Is STRESS Real?"

"
Excessive Sweating Advice and Treatments" gives us the basics about this
condition that many suffer with constantly.

For moods and depression, check out "
3 ways to Avoid A SAD Winter"

For anxiety, read "
How To Calm Down" for tips and techniques.

For introspection, read "
There's Some Hero In You","Finding Clarity and
Inner Stillness through Meditation". "Freedom from Judgement", "Why Help
Yourself" and "Why You Should Never Lose Hope". Try "Inspire Yourself on
Purpose - Inspiration from Inside Out" or "Spirituality and Mental Health,
Part I of IV: Active Ingredients of Spirituality"

The article, "
Supporting Trauma Survivors – Part I", talks about the spirit of
giving of yourself, not of material things.

An article about mindfulness in business is "
Mindful Marketing: Marketing
without selling your soul"

Now that you have all those packages wrapped, fruitcakes baked, Christmas
cards mailed and the lights strung, check out what you can do with your
extra time ("Sally, do you have any minutes to spare?") by going to the quirky
name of this entry, "
Smorty, A Paid Per View with Ongoing Earning Referral
Program" Huh?

An last but not least, during this holiday season, let us not forget to seek
some humor (we are sampling XM Radio for the next 15 days and listening
to comedy while working at our desks). Check out Madeleine "Mad" Kane's ,
"
The Five Second What?". Too bad we can't use it for everything, including
paychecks that seem to fly out of our bank accounts too, too fast.

May you create wonderful memories to share this holiday season,

Jacqueline
