"Healer, heal Thyself"
I was at a Spring Holistic fair recently and had quite the experience that I
thought I would share with you.
Festivities began at mid morning and all the readers and healers joined in a
smudge circle to focus on intentions of the day. With the focus of this
quarterly fair being spring and time for renewal, we made our intentions clear
and began the day.
I was validated early on that a healer whom I had read the Tarot for about 6
months earlier was present, demonstrating her Reiki techniques. She said that
she came as a result of my suggestions and referral to the shop owner. She
later spoke to me of the wonderful time she had at the end of the day.
I had validation and even lessons taught to me through the readings I did for
customers; their lives mirrored mine and the possibility that these people
could have experienced some of my experiences was amazing. There was
giving all throughout the day and I received an astrological reading and a
palmistry reading from an amazing person.
The most important lesson came as I was packing up. A young woman
approached me and queried/stated that I had a brother and she said his
name. I affirmed that i did and gave his full name. She told me that she was an
ex girlfriend of his and she thanked me for assisting her when she was 15 and
with my brother at the time. She had experienced some difficult lessons and I
had opened my home to her. She expressed her thankfulness for my kindness
because she had said that if it weren't for that one small gesture, she might
have had other outcomes to her situation. To be honest, and I said this to her,
that I did not remember doing anything special or out of the ordinary and she
said that I was kind and assisted her when she needed help. She expressed
her love and gratitude many times in that few minutes and told me that
intuition spoke to her with a sense of urgency that she had to go to this special
event today for some reason. Now she knew why she was hurrying despite
being in traffic on the freeway.
I was changed in that moment. I could not believe that what I thought was a
small gesture of caring could bring such a lasting impression that would stay
with this woman for 20 years. The lesson was for me; that even the small,
seemingly insignificant gestures can be instrumental in the person that is
present and receiving at the time.
My hope that in my telling of this story is that it will remind you that you leave
a lasting impression on all the people you encounter in your day. I think that
there is nothing more to say.
