"Will It Bring My Lover Back?"
In my days as a Tarot reader, I have experienced many times where what the
client wants to hear might not be the issue topic of the day to be discussed. This
can cause some uneasiness and frustration for the client. I explain that in my
readings, I like to let the Tarot tell them what they need to know. I do not like to
inquire as to why they are having a reading that day. The Tarot sometimes
addresses an the moment is finances and being industrious, not romance. The
Tarot sometimes addresses an underlying issue concerning a character quirk
that is resulting in failed relationships. So begins my story for today.
Recently, I read for someone who had been very closed off during the beginning
of her reading. She would listen politely to what I was explaining about the cards
and their messages; but she appeared as if the message did not pertain to her.
Despite her current lifestyle as a single person, the first 5 cards were talking
about relationship. The first three, all in reverse, described her past
relationships, then the Goddess Oba appeared in an upright position with a
message for the querent. The next two cards spoke of a future as a couple with a
possible meeting at work. However, the message of Oba was one that needed to
be explained in depth
This story or pataki is from the area now known as Nigeria. It was the land of the
Yoruba tribe. I have condensed and applied it to modern situations so you the
reader can perhaps see the message in a clearer way.
Goddess Oba was a Queen of a nation of people and married to a King. Certain
women are attracted to men of power and thus being one of the "perks" of rulers,
the King had 'girlfriends'. Oba knew of this and appeared to give no thought to
this situation until one day when the 'girlfriend' came to visit the Queen. Now,
both knew of each other and knew what each other was in relation to the King;
however, Oba being gracious in her role, served tea to the visitor.
As they were talking, the 'girlfriend' revealed that her 'man' loved it when she
served his favorite dish; her ear in soup. Unflinching, Oba recognized a piece of
information that was given to her that may win back her husbands' favor and
return him to her side. The 'girlfriend' knew that she was presenting a set up. It
is the typical games that people in said situations play on each other. The
'girlfriend' bid Oba adieu, and Oba started to formulate a plan. She would serve
her husband the very thing he enjoyed dining on the most. Oba thought that
surely her would not only be delighted that served him his favorite meal and
surprised that she found it out, but she believed that he would return to her and
love her even more because of her efforts.
That evening she cut her ear off and prepared it in a broth. Her head wrapped in
cloth, she served it to the King. As he took the cover off the dish, he angrily
exclaimed, "What is THIS?" Oba explained that she discovered his favorite dish
and lovingly prepared it for him. The King tore off her head wrap in shock and
banished her at once from his kingdom. She was then known as the devoted
woman who defaced and disfigured herself for the love of a person who should
have rightly given it to her.
After some reflection, the woman told me that she 'did it all for her marriage' and
her relationship had failed. Without going into more detail, I asked her if the
message of Oba applied to the situation and she said that she could see the
message. I told her the message is a turning point, that you cannot allow
someone to take advantage of you ever again. Every human on this Earth
deserves love and should not have to make concessions to receive it.
Sometimes, I have someone who comes to my and says, "When will I find the
'One'?". The 'One' is out there for everyone; it is a matter of revealing who you
are so that they can see your inner light and the right person can be attracted
by your goodness. As you respect and love yourself, you present to the world the
parameters of what you will allow in your relationships. It is unfortunate that
there are more than a few souls that will accept less than what they deserve in
order to not be single. I do not use the word 'alone' as I know that you are never
alone because of your Guardian Angels and Guiding Spirits that surround you
in unconditional love.
Another strikingly beautiful lady visited me a few months ago, wishing to be free
from a suitor that had clearly not respected her during the course of their
relationship. He was remorseful but had not changed his manner in which he
spoke to her. In the same consultation, she wanted to reconnect with an old
flame, who was currently in a relationship. Hesitantly, I spoke to her about
opening her mind to the possibility of the Universe presenting someone to her
that was perfect for her. This is some of the same ideas that I present on my free
love candle spells page on my website. In the case of the young lady, she clearly
was going to go from one situation that was problematic to another one. I
breathed a sigh of relief when she called me back a few days later and after some
thought, decided to as the Universe to bring her a love that was perfect for her.
It is when we open ourselves to trust and to what gifts that God and His Universe
has for us is when we truly receive all that is meant for us to have.
