"The Spirit of Christmas"

As many of you who receive readings from me, I tend to share life experiences
with you, not only to make a connection with you but also to show that we in
the metaphysical arena have things in our lives that we work on the true
meaning and seek clarity on them as well.  Many of you know that I work in
education, enriching the lives of children with autism. I love my job and for
some reason, I was chosen to enter this field at a later time in my life. I can
now recognize certain characteristics in my own grandchildren, and for only
that reason I can surmise that is the reason I am here.

The staff was gathered around the half circle desk we call a "lunchroom" in the
center of the "pod"; a runway storage/small group area that runs the center of
the wing of classrooms that I work in.  We were listening to travel stories from
one Thailand traveler to the upcoming one who will be departing in a few days,
others trading whimsical comments and anecdotes about the students and
what we are doing for the holidays.  One teacher shared with me their families'
plans.

It seems they are friends with a family whose wife and mother recently found
that her cancer had turned terminal. She had gone through the chemotherapy
and cancer had been found throughout her body. She was in her early forties,
a mother of 5 and given 6 months to live. The teacher indicated that they were
going to take the children, all school aged, out to a movie. I told him what a
great gift to give the parents; the time to be alone. I cannot fathom the anguish
that the mother is going through, knowing that this will be their last
Christmas together.

I have personal situations that have gone on in my recent past that have
brought tears to my eyes more than once during this season where families
are to be at peace and unity with each other. I also have a very dear friend that
is facing some cancer issues that have her very scared and is testing her faith
immensely. It is hearing that others in this world, in my community, are
experiencing even more difficult trials that it makes mine minuscule in
comparison and surpasses any parking problems or lines at the post office. My
friend said she would get the comment, '"Don't be such a Pollyanna!"' when
she would try to shift the focus from her problems and acknowledge that
others' in this world have even more suffering than we do.

In this season of what is to be love, generosity and peace, try to be thankful for
what you have
and what you have experienced in your time here on Earth.
You never know when that vast source of knowledge and experience could
come in handy to either share its' wealth or utilize yourself in the future.

We are headed for a bright and busy 2008 beginning in just a few days! Be
ready for increased business and prosperity and please remember to give to
those less fortunate, whether it is a value meal from the drive-thru for the guy
on the corner holding a sign to picking up the shortage of change for the kids
in front of you in the grocery line. Just remember to educate them that true
prosperity is when they say "God Bless You" when receiving your gift and
remembering to bless them as well.

I say this thrice: God Bless You! God Bless You! God Bless You all in 2008!
